Tasty toasties

Canned pasta on toast has got to be great kiwi tradition NZ foodies would rather not be acknowledged for. As a young girl going to the South Island to study in my late teens and being brought up in Italy, my enjoyment of spaghetti and cheese toasties had to be kept a total secret.

Okay, so canned pasta is slimy and not the most desirable of foods but actually, if you use left-over and home-made lasagne as a toastie topping it's the ultimate comfort food.

Left-over rattatoulie is a great toastie, or pizza topping as well.


Finish your meal with a lime slice and reward yourself for the dollars saved with a glass of bubbles.
